活塞隊球迷昨天賽前先將噓聲送給騎士隊當家球星詹姆斯，表達對他休兵的不滿，賽後則是報以歡呼和掌聲，慶祝球隊以一○六比九○擊敗東區龍頭。
本周將過卅二歲生日的詹姆斯，前天的「耶誕大戰」上場四十分鐘，加上球隊七天要打五場比賽，讓總教練泰隆魯做出讓頭號球星輪休的決定，但他認為輸球不只是因為「三巨頭」沒到齊，「最大的因素是對方三分球廿八投十六中，這是很好的命中率。」
「三巨頭」月中碰灰熊隊時曾一起休兵，球隊吞敗不是意外結果，但連同昨天碰活塞，詹姆斯本季三度缺席、騎士勝率是零。
貢獻十七分、十四籃板的勒夫則認為，球隊仍有足夠天分來贏球，但少了「世界上最好的球員」，戰力無疑受影響，「我認為我們沒他也應該贏球，但就像我所說，我們還是期待他回來帶動大家，當他和史密斯都歸隊，大家都回歸，我們就能有很好表現。」
從二○一四年重返騎士迄今，詹姆斯缺陣球隊的戰績是四勝十八敗，他的重要性由此可見。
